Title: Snow Like Ashes

Genre: High Fantasy; Young Adult; Romance; Adventure.

Synopsis: “A heartbroken girl. A fierce warrior. A hero in the making.
Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.
Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.
So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, and serving her kingdom just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.“
MY RATING: 3.5 Starts
About this book… I don’t have much to say honestly… I mean, I didn’t like it, I wanted to love it a lot, actually I thought that I was going to… but I didn’t.
If you ask me if I tried to like this book? yes, I tried really really hard to like this book… I was trying to like a lot of quotes, I was trying to like the characters… but honestly that didn’t happen.
In my opinion this book was kind of predictable… when I was reading the fourth chapter I already kind of knew what was going to happen at the end of this book.
I can say to you what I didn’t like in this book..
I didn’t like the way it was written… I mean, it was not bad but I didn’t love it you know? I was expecting something more… I was expecting to be transportated to another world and that didn’t happen.
I didn’t like the characters… actually I didn’t like the main character. I didn’t feel any kind of connection with the main character, I kind of liked the boys (Mather and Theron) but that’s it… I didn’t feel that extraordinary connection with the characters that I was expecting to feel.
About the plot… that’s something I kind of liked but once again I’m not really impressed with it… BUT, if you talk to me about the idea of those kingdoms… then YES, I really think that that was an awesome idea. I liked the kingdoms… and that’s a plus, maybe that’s why I gave to it 3.5 stars and not only 3 stars (I know, that’s not a lot… but it can always make the difference).
I feel that I don’t have a lot of stuff to say to you about this book right know… so just stick with everything I wrote above…
Just one more thing before I go…
I know that a LOT of people loved this book, this story, this plot… THOSE CHARACTERS… and I didn’t, so everyone has a different opinion about books, stories, authors… and pretty much about everything… so just because someone didn’t like a book that you loved it doesn’t mean that you have to “give HATE” to those persons…
