MY RATING: 5 Stars
This book was amazing… and confusing… and amazing.
I need to be honest with you, I didn’t like this book as much as I liked “Gone Girl”, “Gone Girl” blew my mind when I read it and I am still obsessed with that story and with that plot and those characters… “Dark Places” was not that addictive. I gave to “Gone Girl” 5.5 stars because that was one of my favorite books ever and I gave to “Dark Places” 5 stars because I loved it but it was just not as good as I wanted it to be.
When I started reading this book I was not getting into it that fast, it was not being “boring” but I was not loving it, it was not pulling me into the story as “Gone Girl” did… then it started getting better and I started getting really interested in the story and I really wanted to know what was going to happen.
In my opinion the plot was not predictable at all, I didn’t know what the hell was happening until the very end of the book… and that is one of the things I love the most while reading a book (not knowing what the freaking hell is happening).
I don’t know if I loved the main character and I surely didn’t love Ben, don’t know why… I just didn’t fall in love with him… maybe not my type of guy. I liked the main character Libby, I kind of understand her actions in the course of the story and I am not going to say that there’s something missing because with Gillian Flynn NEVER and by never I mean NEVER is missing anything but I don’t know… Libby and I just… it doesn’t work that well… she couldn’t be my BFF, at all… contrary to Amy Dunne from “Gone Girl”… I know, I know… I want to be best friends with a psychopath, I just like her, she’s a smart bitch.
I am totally going to recommend this book to you because it was really good and because it was written by Gillian Flynn and right now this amazing author is surely one of my favorite authors in this world.
