Synopsis: Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past ten years, this thirty-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now he’s heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him.
In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbor. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe can’t stop looking over his shoulder. The problem with hidden bodies is that they don’t always stay that way. They re-emerge, like dark thoughts, multiplying and threatening to destroy what Joe wants most: truelove. And when he finds it in a darkened room in Soho House, he’s more desperate than ever to keep his secrets buried. He doesn’t want to hurt his new girlfriend—he wants to be with her forever. But if she ever finds out what he’s done, he may not have a choice…

MY RATING: 4.5 Starts

WHAT THE FREAKING WHAT ?! ok Caroline Kepnes, once again, you win !

I gave to this book exactly the same rating I gave to the first one… BUT on Goodreads I marked the first book with 5 Stars and this second one with 4 Stars, and the reason is pretty simple… I loved both books the same way, they were both really exciting but something about the first book was more captivating, so since I don’t really know what that is I decided do give to both books the same rating (with a little tiny difference on Goodreads).

So the beginning of this book was kind of “nostalgic” because it really reminded me the beginning of the first book with the difference that this time Joe knew the girl… Joe is always in LOVE knowing or “not knowing” the girl who’s in front of him.

I was really freaked out in the first book because of Joe Goldberg of course, while everyone was loving him and saying that he was amazing and truly funny I was seriously FREAKED OUT because let’s be honest here, HE’S MAD, HE’S A FREAKING SOCIOPATH, PSYCHOPATH, EVERYTHINGPATH ! I was always thinking “GUYS COME ONE… you can’t just love a person like Joe… you can’t”… because I got seriously traumatized with that character… but now I learnt how to cope with that book and I kind of like him a little bit (not a little bit, I really like him now… that cute psycho ass…)

SO since we are here talking about mad people let’s just talk about that new character named Love… come on girl, you can’t be serious… if you didn’t read the book PLEASE just don’t read what’s coming next that starts with SPOILER and is underlined… if you did read the book then just go with it and agree with me.

SPOILER: How can a girl – Love – understand and accept what Joe did ? Seriously ? I was shocked… when se locked him in the bathroom I was like ok, she’s no stupid after all… she will call the cops and everything is going to be fine… and then she comes back and everything is just NOT FINE… HOW IN THE HELL IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE ?

Right now I love and I hate Caroline Kepnes… I hope you understand honey… I GUESS THAT ALL YOUR FANS FEEL THE SAME WAY…

Talking a little about the book cover.. so this was not the edition I wanted to buy because I have the other edition of the first book, the one with the red and white cover… and this cover of “Hidden Bodies” matches the other cover of “YOU”, the one with the girl waiting for the train (I know this because of the font that was used to write the title and the author’s name) BUT the thing is, the other edition wasn’t released yet which means that I would have to wait for too long to read this book while everyone else was reading it… so I just bought this edition, I prefer the other one but maybe I will change it later… maybe if Caroline Kepnes decides to write a thrid book I will buy the matching editions !

That’s it for today boys and girls… I really liked this book and I truly recommend to you these two books “You” and “Hidden Bodies”.
