Hardin will always be…Hardin. But is he really the deep, thoughtful guy Tessa fell madly in love with despite his angry exterior—or has he been a stranger all along? She wishes she could walk away. It’s just not that easy. Not with the memory of passionate nights spent in his arms. His electric touch. His hungry kisses.
Still, Tessa’s not sure she can endure one more broken promise. She put so much on hold for Hardin—school, friends, her mom, a relationship with a guy who really loved her, and now possibly even a promising new career. She needs to move forward with her life.
Hardin knows he made a mistake, possibly the biggest one of his life. He’s not going down without a fight. But can he change? Will he change…for love?“
MY RATING: 5 Starts
First of all I need to say this: TESSA ANNOYED ME TO PIECES IN THIS SECOND BOOK !
Now, I can proceed with my review.
I loved this book, I think that in terms of plot it was a HUGE improvement from the first book because if you read my review for “After” then you know that even giving to the first book 5 Stars I thought that the book was all about romance and not much about the plot and the consistency of the story you know ? But in this second book that totally changed, now we have a story, it still is “all about the romance” but we actually have a story, we actually have some background besides Tessas’s and Hardin’s romance, we still get a lot of that because it is a romance for God’s sake which means we cannot criticize that part but we have some background from some other characters and we get to read about Hardin and Tessa separately which I think is amazing !
Something that I loved about this book was the fact that the book was kind of divided into Hardin’s point of view and Tessa’s point of view, I loved that because the story of the first book was told by Tessa, the whole book was Tessa telling you the story, but this second book… I mean, HARDIN… you have Hardin telling you what’s going on in his head which for me is amazing because you don’t always get Hardin to talk to you you know ? (kidding a little here) and that’s was just awesome, you still have Tessa telling you her part of the story but you also can read Hardin’s part of the story.
Once again I think that this book was really well written, I couldn’t put it down because I was too excited to know what was going to happen next and I still am… and that’s why I kind of ordered the third book already… I know, I know, shame on me… I am spending money on books again… what can I do ? I NEED to know what is going to happen next, I couldn’t wait any longer to buy the book so I just came to the computer, went to the website and ordered it, simple as that.
This book is HUGE ok ? It has a total of 688 pages and the words are written in a really small font just as “After” was but “After” had only 500 and something pages, this book has 688 pages which is A LOT! And want to know something even funnier ? The third book, the one I’m going to read next in the series ? The one I ordered today ? IT HAS 848 FREAKING PAGES ! THAT’S SO HUGE… but the thing is that when I am reading these books, Anna Todd’s books I get so stuck into the book I never care about how many pages I am reading, how many pages I have already read or how many pages I still have to read to finish the book. That’s it, she has a gift !
I think you all already know how I feel about the characters, I love Hardin a LOT, he’s so everything… I just can’t understand how can people say he’s hateful and he’s a bad character, I like him and I kind of understand him sometimes, I hate him sometimes too because let’s just look at his attitude but he’s probably my favorite character, I like Tessa too of course but as I said at the beginning of the review in this book she annoyed me a lot, I was always calling her names because she deserved them, but I like her and I really think that Anna Todd did an amazing job with these characters !
I am OBVIOUSLY recommending this book to everyone, this and the first one of course ! You really should read this series and take your own conclusions about this story that a lot of people hates while I love it !
